Refund and Cancellation Policy

This policy outlines your rights regarding course cancellations and refunds in accordance with UK Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Your Consumer Rights

Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel a contract for services within 14 calendar days without giving a reason. This is known as your "cooling-off period."

Important Note:

Your cooling-off period begins on the day after you receive confirmation of your course booking. If you start the course during this period, you may lose your right to cancel.

Course Cancellation by Students

Online Courses (E-Learning)

  • Within 14 days (not started): Full refund provided you have not started accessing the course materials
  • Within 14 days (started): You may lose your right to cancel if you have expressly requested to start before the cooling-off period ends
  • After 14 days: No refund available once the cooling-off period has expired

Classroom/Physical Courses

  • More than 14 days before start: Full refund minus £25 administration fee
  • 7-14 days before start: 50% refund
  • Less than 7 days before start: No refund, but you may transfer to another date subject to availability
  • No-show: No refund

Medical or Emergency Circumstances

We understand that unexpected circumstances arise. If you need to cancel due to medical reasons or emergencies, please contact us with supporting documentation. We will review each case individually and may offer:

  • Course transfer to a future date (no charge)
  • Credit note for future courses
  • Partial or full refund at our discretion

Course Cancellation by ParaCom Training

In the rare event that we need to cancel a course, you will be entitled to:

  • Full refund of all fees paid, processed within 14 working days
  • OR transfer to an alternative course date at no additional charge
  • OR credit note for the full amount to use on any future course

We are not liable for any additional costs you may have incurred (such as travel or accommodation) if we cancel a course.

Digital Products and Resources

Once you have downloaded or accessed digital products (such as PDFs, videos, or other electronic resources), you cannot cancel your order as the content has been supplied.

If there is a defect or error in the digital product, please contact us within 30 days and we will provide a replacement or refund.

How to Request a Refund

To request a refund or cancellation, please contact us:

  • Email: contact@paracomtraining.com
  • Include your full name, booking reference, and reason for cancellation
  • We will respond within 48 hours (excluding weekends and bank holidays)

Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be processed within 14 working days to the original payment method used. Please allow additional time for your bank or card provider to process the refund.

Course Transfers

You may request to transfer your booking to another course date, subject to:

  • Transfer request made at least 7 days before the original course date
  • Availability on the new date
  • Transfer fee may apply (typically £25) unless due to medical/emergency reasons
  • Only one transfer permitted per booking

Complaints and Dispute Resolution

If you are not satisfied with our service or have a complaint about a refund decision:

  2. We will investigate and respond within 14 working days
  3. If you remain dissatisfied, you may use the Online Dispute Resolution platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr

Weather and Force Majeure

For outdoor courses (particularly watersports), we may need to postpone due to adverse weather or conditions beyond our control. In such cases:

  • We will offer alternative dates at no additional cost
  • Full refund available if no suitable alternative date can be found
  • We are not liable for travel or accommodation costs

Special terms may apply to group bookings (5 or more participants). Please contact us for details.
